Heartbreak Hill

I ran 10 miles for the second time in a week, proving I'm in shape, and it's not just a fluke. (Then I bought a tub of Ben and Jerry's -- the one with the salted caramel core and the blonde brownies. HOLY CRAP. It's so good that it's dangerous to have it in the house!!!)

I took the route that my husband normally runs, but I avoid it because there's a big hill on the way back home. I ran up the hill AND up the next hill that I also normally walk (out of laziness mostly. I know I CAN run up it; I just choose not to!). So I felt really good about myself when I was done. I pretended it was Heartbreak Hill and that I'm awesome enough to run the Boston marathon (HA!). It was a beautiful day, but kind of cold. I ended up wearing long pants AND long sleeves, and I was so glad I did.

There were dog walkers at the park, with about eight dogs between them. Maybe more. At that point, I wouldn't have minded lying down and having a dog pile -- the dogs couldn't licked my sweaty face! But I just waved and ran past. If Chico wasn't an evil Chihuahua, maybe he could have friends like that!

I didn't know what to have for lunch, and then I remembered that I made baked potatoes, so I had a potato with mozarella cheese on it. It really hit the spot! Tomorrow I want to make chicken and broccoli and make a bowl like they have at Crazy Bowls and Wraps! (with rice or quinoa and teriyaki sauce) We're also going to the Renaissance Faire, but not planning to eat there because they don't have much (healthy) to offer -- they DO have popcorn, though, so I might get a bag of half cheese/half caramel! Irresistible!
