Happy Memorial Day!

I hope you have a great holiday and remember the reason for the day (not hot dogs and hamburgers, but to honor those who lost their lives so we can enjoy our freedom!).

I went for a 10 mile run first thing. I finished at 8:30 and it was already feeling pretty hot and humid! I ran to the park, around the park and back, then my normal route past the library to where the sidewalk ends. 5 + 5 miles.

Pork is in the crock pot, chicken in the fridge, and we made homemade BBQ sauce (very vinegary this time!), apple-pear sauce (think applesauce with half pears), and grilled sweet potatoes last night. Steve is adhering to the Whole 30 rules this week (the rules are here) to help his stomach issues and bloating. We froze a bunch of bananas (we got a bag of ripe ones for $1.69!) for a nice, cold snack. He also made a pot of coffee, which is now in our refrigerator. He adds coconut milk, cinnamon, and ice to make a healthy iced coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, but he says it's good!

I hope you have a great Memorial Day and get to spend time with friends and family!
