How It Should Be

Every time I run a half marathon, I end up gaining a little bit of weight. What?! I know! I'm only two pounds heavier, and it's probably just from eating restaurant food over the weekend. Still, from the way my legs FEEL, they should look like this.

It's 78 degrees right now. GLORIOUS! I tried to take a picture for Steve to show him that I AM SO HAPPY to be running OUTSIDE and I LOVE RUNNING* and I LOVE SUNSHINE and I LOVE THIS SONG RIGHT NOW ON MY PLAYLIST!!! 

 And tomorrow when it snows again, I will be miserable and sad. 

But for right now, LOOK AT THAT BLUE SKY!!!!! 

So I ran 5 miles, and I was really surprised that my times were good. My legs were a little stiff, but since it usually takes me a lot longer than two rest days to recover, I'm feeling good. I'm already planning my next races. 

The N.I.C.K. 5k is 4/12/14 at Longacre Park. We run there all the time, so I'd love to do this race again this year (Steve won last year!). It was small last year, because it's sponsored by the Baptist Church, in conjunction with a health fair. 

The Law Day Run in Belleville is May 3. Last year was SO cold. I'm hoping it's warm this year! May 18 there's a run at the zoo that would be awesome. There's also a Run 4 Red Memorial Day run in Belleville that I'd like to do if we're home May 26. That's a lot of runs in May. We'll see how many I sign up for. Maybe if some people would join me...we can wear tutus and get matching shirts! 

*You don't have to run. Running might not be your thing. But you should find your thing, so you can feel awesome too!
